License Agreement
DSyms Help File • Version 4.0

Thank you for purchasing a license to run PenDean Inc. software (the "Program"). Please read this License Agreement carefully. It contains the terms and conditions under which the Program is being licensed to you.

PenDean Inc. grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use this copy of the Program and accompanying documentation, according to the terms of this license. You must have a paid license for each copy of the Program installed on or copied to a hard disk drive, read-write optical disk drive, or other permanent data storage device.

Single User Installation

If the Program is run as a Single User Installation, your use of the Program is subject to the following conditions:

1.      You may install the Program on only one computer; and

2.      You may physically transfer the Program from one computer to another, provided that the Program is installed on only one computer at a time.

3.      You must have a licensed copy of AutoCAD LT2004 for every copy of PenDean's DSyms add-on, and you must have a licensed copy of PenDean's DSyms add-on for every AutoCAD LT2004 license. Failure of either option is in violation of US andother countries copyright laws, and we will sic Autodesk on you if we find out, and they will unleash Microsoft, Adobe and others on you in return, as well as your state's Attorney General's office and State Comptroller's office, and notify your proffessional associations of the infraction.

Multiple User Installation

There are two types of Multiple User Installation:

1.      You may choose to run the Program as a Multiple User Installation with the maximum number of concurrent users set to one. The AutoCad base Program is preset to permit installation in this way. The installation will allow multiple individuals to run the Program, but only one person at a time is licensed to do so. In this case you do not need to purchase an additional license.

2.      You may choose to run the Program as a Multiple User Installation with the maximum number of concurrent users set to two or more. If you choose this option, you must have purchased a license from PenDean Inc. for two or more concurrent users. You must have sufficient paid licenses for all individuals concurrently using the Program at separate computers, workstations, or terminals.

ADDITIONAL RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS

Regardless of whether you are using the Program as a Single User Installation or a Multiple User Installation:

You may make one copy of the Program solely for backup purposes.

You may not:

·       modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, create derivative works based on, or copy (except for the sole backup copy) the Program or accompanying documentation.

·       rent, or transfer all or any part of the Program or accompanying documentation to any person without the prior written consent of PenDean Inc.

·       remove any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Program and accompanying documentation; or

·       use this Program outside of the country in which it was purchased regardless of whether such use was accomplished by physical or electronic transfer of the Program.

PenDean Inc. retains title and copyrights to the Program, accompanying documentation, and any legitimate backup copy made by you. Unauthorized copying of the Program or the accompanying documentation, or failure to comply with the above restrictions will result in automatic termination of this license and will make available to PenDean Inc. other legal remedies.

LIMITED WARRANTY AND DISCLAIMER

PenDean Inc. warrants that for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of delivery to you as evidenced by a copy of your receipt, the media on which the Program is furnished under normal use will be free from defects in materials and workmanship. PenDean Inc’s entire liability and your exclusive remedy under this warranty (which is subject to your returning the Program to PenDean Inc. or any Authorized PenDean Inc. Dealer with a copy of your receipt) will be, at PenDean Inc’s option, to attempt to correct or work around errors, to replace the program or distribution media with functionally-equivalent software or media, as applicable, or to refund the purchase price and terminate this Agreement.

EXCEPT FOR THE ABOVE EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTIES, PENDEAN INC.MAKES AND YOU RECEIVE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR IN ANY COMMUNICATION WITH YOU, AND PENDEAN INC. SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. PENDEAN INC.DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE OPERATION OF THE PROGRAM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR FREE.

If this Program was purchased in the United States, the above exclusions may not apply to you as some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. In addition to the above warranty rights, you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

IN NO EVENT WILL PENDEAN INC. BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOST PROFITS, COST OF COVER OR OTHER SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INDIRECT DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PROGRAM OR ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION, HOWEVER CAUSED AND ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY. THIS LIMITATION WILL APPLY EVEN IF PENDEAN INC. OR AN AUTHORIZED DEALER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE LICENSE FEE REFLECTS THIS ALLOCATION OF RISK. IF YOU PURCHASED THIS PROGRAM IN THE UNITED STATES, SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Layers

(Dsyms Menu)

Available as a toolbar, we added more Layer commands for your use: Single pick commands to freeze, lock and unlock, delete layer options (better than built in AutoCAD option), cycle through layers, isolate layers, and more.

Layers

AutoCAD LAYER command. Refer to User Manual for Details.

Make/Set new Layer

(Dsyms Menu)

Create a new Layer, and set it as the new Current Layer. IF layer is existing, it will still become the current active Layer.

Delete

(Dsyms Menu)

Layer Delete options: see below.

Delete Pick

Pick an entity on the layer you wish to delete.

Delete Current

Delete entities on the Current Active Set Layer.

Delete Layer(s)

Select this option: at the prompt, simply type in the Layer Name to delete, then hit <ENTER>. The routine will thaw only the Layer(s) you selected, and erase all entity(s) on them. Save and run purge routine to remove the Layer(s) reference from File. If you need to delete more than one Layer, at the prompt for Layer Name, simply place a comma (and no spaces) between the Layer Names; you actually have to know the Layer Names you wish to delete. Layer 0 remains unaffected: my philosophy has always been to never draw anything except REVDATE block on Layer 0, and only use Layer 0 to create Blocks on. Refer to LAYERS in the User manual.

Freeze/Thaw

(Dsyms Menu)

Layer Freeze and Thaw options: see below.

Freeze Pick

Pick an entity on the layer you wish to Freeze. Remember, you cannot Freeze the current active layer.

UnFreeze Last Layer

A quick way to Thaw the layer you just set to Freeze with above routine.

Freeze All

Hatch Pattern Definition related to ISO/DIS 12011 line types (Width  5 = Distance between lines). The size of the line segments related to the ISO/DIS 12011 linetypes define the following hatch pattern. The pen width of 1 mm is the base of the definition. To use them with the other ISO/DIS 12011 predefined pen widths, the line has to be scaled with the appropriate value (e.g. pen width 0,5 mm -> ltscale 0.5).
